ABOUT THE COUNCIL
The Dean's Advisory Council (DAC) is a group of undergraduate students who bridge the undergraduate student body and the administration of the W. P. Carey School of Business. Its mission is to improve the undergraduate experience by working closely with Associate Dean Michele Pfund and W. P. Carey faculty and staff on projects that represent student interests, improve the quality of student life, and work toward creating more competitive W. P. Carey graduates. In addition to providing W. P. Carey administration with insight into student mindsets and needs, the DAC researches and recommends action plans to improve the undergraduate experience.
Any W. P. Carey School of Business student is eligible to apply for the Dean’s Advisory Council. Recruiting for Freshmen, Sophomores, Juniors, and Seniors occurs at the beginning of Fall. Membership is good for one full academic year and students may re-apply for membership for successive years. DAC members research and collaborate on new ideas and solutions to problems proposed by the council, the dean, or W. P. Carey faculty members, making recommendations that are reviewed and implemented when appropriate by the senior leadership of the W. P. Carey School.
In the past, the DAC has been a major factor in a number of improvements throughout the school, including:
