Current Proposals

The Council Proposal process is conducted through two primary groups: the research/feedback committee and proposal committees. The research committee is responsible for proposal-topic origination through comprehensive feedback assessment and research. The proposal committees work to create solutions for projects brought forth by the research/feedback committee and approved by the Dean. At any given time, the Council works on multiple proposals in order to best address the needs of W. P. Carey.

FEEDBACK COMMITTEE

The Feedback Committee is currently in the process of conducting feedback and research on a number of issues facing the W. P. Carey undergraduate student body. These issues include but are not limited to engagement, curriculum benchmarking, retention rates, tailored involvement opportunities.

ENGAGEMENT PROPOSAL

Currently, the Engagement Proposal Committee is conducting research to address efforts to increase student engagement, with a focus on the first 8-10 weeks of school. Engagement, specifically for Freshmen, is a critical issue affecting retainment at colleges nationwide. Finding suitable methods of increasing engagement not only provides students with expanded ways to get involved but stay in college as well.

CURRICULUM PROPOSAL

Currently, the Curriculum Proposal Committee is conducting research to assess the competitiveness of W. P. Carey's curricula, including opportunities not available within the classroom. In order to maintain the highest standards for excellence, W. P. Carey's curricula will be benchmarked with that provided by other top business schools. Additionally, specialized programs will be explored to address additional needs not covered within the classroom.
